The Regional District of Nanaimo has a population of 150,000. It encompasses 7 electoral areas with incorporated and unincorporated communities including Nanaimo, Lantzville, Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Coombs, Errington, Hilliers and Bowser. 

Real Estate in the Regional District of Nanaimo

There is both mountain estates to farm land to ocean front to urban and rural living. The breakdown of housing is 65% single family homes, 23% movable, 4% semi-detached, 4% duplexes and walk ups at 4% outside of the main urban areas. Rentals to Ownership is 24% to 76% respectively

Location of the Regional District of Nanaimo

The Regional District runs from the edge of the Port Alberni district to the west, the edge of the Comox Valley to the north and the Cowichan Valley to the south. The main urban center is Nanaimo but Parksville and Qualicum Beach are also significant urban centers.
